At Electronic Arts’ gamescom press conference today, DICE revealed that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will release on March 2, 2010 in North America and March 5 in Europe for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
DICE threw down the gauntlet, saying that while they have respect for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Bad Company 2 will “define online multiplayer gaming” with the “most insane online battles you have ever experienced.”
Also detailed was the game’s updated destruction model, what DICE are calling “Destruction 2.0.” One example given was a sniper finding a key location in a building, and then creating his or her own hole to shoot from. Cover can be chipped away by fire, and entire buildings can be reduced to rubble.
Sounds like DICE is looking to give Volition’s Red Faction: Guerrilla a run for its money.
