Just give it a chance
November 10 might be a date that you’ve heard thrown around a fair bit today. That’s because it’s the day that the next generation of Xbox kicks off. It’s when Xbox Series X and Series S both launch. It’s also when some high-profile games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Yakuza: Like a Dragon will simultaneously debut.
However, that’s also when one of the year’s finest games finally gets its console port. Gears Tactics, which I was smitten with back in April, comes to Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X on November 10.
And in even bigger news…#GearsTactics comes to console on November 10. https://t.co/wRcrGWoFAK

Gears Tactics is a smart adaption of Gears to a new genre. It takes all the aggressive cover-shooting of a mainline Gears game and filters it through a strategy formula. It emphasizes playing fast and moving forward. Developer Splash Damage managed to nail the feel of a tactics game and a Gears game at the same time. It’s a truly impressive effort.
On November 10, a whole new userbase will get a chance to see what Gears Tactics brings to the table. The PC version already has controller support, so that shouldn’t be where the port needs to prove itself. Rather, it’ll need to run well, especially on last-gen consoles. It should be relatively painless to find out, however, as Gears Tactics will be included as part of Xbox Game Pass at launch.
