Genshin Impact has expanded its universe quite a bit since its 2020 debut. Now, as yet another new region approaches, hardware requirements are once again raising demands for optimal performance. So, what does this mean for Genshin Impact players across all platforms?

What devices are affected in the Genshion 5.0 update?

The following devices will still be able to run Genshin Impact, but must configure the game at lower settings. Minimum hardware requirements are not changing, just recommended hardware.

iOS requirements for Genshin Impact 5.0

iOS devices with an A12 processor or lower. This includes iPhones from before 2019 and iPads from before 2020, excluding the 4th gen iPad Air.

Android requirements for Genshin Impact 5.0

Android devices with a Snapdragon 865, Dimensity 1200 (8050), Kirin 9000SL, or Samsung Exynos 1080 or lower. This includes the Samsung Galaxy S20 variants and older. Due to the wide range of Android devices, you should check your individual specifications to see if you will be affected.

PlayStation 4 requirements for Genshin Impact console update

PlayStation 4 consoles will be affected. PS4 owners should still be able to run Genshin Impact, but expect decreased performance.

PC hardware requirements in Version 5.0

No changes have been listed for PC players.

When are Natlan and 5.0 coming?

We can expect these changes to take place with the release of Genshin Impact Version 5.0. Though we don’t have an official date, if we assume two more patches for Fontaine, we can expect 5.0 to drop on August 28, 2024. However, this estimate is based on previous patterns, so we may well see 5.0 anytime in late summer or early fall.

Version 5.0 is significant because it will likely mark the release of an entirely new region in Genshin Impact: the Pyro nation of Natlan. Natlan has been teased through in-game lore, but we still know very little about it. The increased hardware requirements for 5.0 could mean that Natlan has something special in store for Travelers.
