More gameplay of cancelled 2008 game
Free Radical’s Star Wars Battlefront sequel has made many appearances on various streams and video hosting channels since cancellation in 2008, but this weekend saw one of the most generous videos: an hour-long playthrough of a multiplayer match.
This footage comes from PtoPOnline, a website and Twitch channel that focuses on early betas and unreleased games. Free Radical co-founder Steve Ellis told Game Informer that Battlefront III was “99% complete,” being tested for bugs, before it was cancelled. I can only assume the above footage is from an alpha build, like the developer reel that also leaked this weekend on Vimeo.
This footage shouldn’t be confused with the recently leaked and cancelled Battlefront spin-off First Assault, which was being developed by LucasArts for an Xbox Live Arcade release.
