More like real boring har har har
The mobile title Real Boxing is coming to PlayStation Vita next month, August 27. Its press release boasts it is the, “first console-style boxing simulation for the PlayStation Vita” and has newly featured, “console-style multiplayer.” This amuses me to no end because it’s a mobile game being ported to a handheld.
Is it just me, or do all those right and left hooks look really weird? Like spaghetti elbows as the shoulder dislocates itself for each punch. See, someone was clearly onto a neat idea early in development. I think this was meant to be a Stretch Armstrong game. It was to be his triumphant comeback, like Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler.
Alas, while I would’ve preferred Unreal Boxing — as in some sort of exaggerated and comical fighting game, not just an Unreal engine powered one — I know this sort of thing has its audience. It’s been a while since Fight Night. Even if this reminds me a bit more of The Fight: Lights Out. Oh well. It’s $10 and could be fun.
