Rock-hard platformer shares The Struggle this summer
Nintendo Switch remaster Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is getting set to bring its twitchy platforming action to multiple platforms in June, when the glossy new edition of Capcom’s 1985 arcade will come leaping onto PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is a re-imagined take on the tough-as-nails coin-op classic, and sees hero Arthur battle through a series of grim, monster-filled stages while on a quest to rescue the fair princess Prin-Prin from the king of the Demon Realm, Astaroth. Arthur will be tasked with taking down innumerable enemies and giant boss characters with an arsenal of procured weaponry, but as any old-school video game fan will tell you — it’s one hell of a task.
While remaining true to its ’80s arcade roots, Ghost ‘n Goblins Resurrection features luscious new visuals, a re-scored soundtrack, and new magical abilities. A brand new local multiplayer mode lets a pal lend a hand as one of three support characters, shielding Arthur from his enemies, or building new platforms to help him negotiate the hazardous terrain. Given GnG‘s notoriety, our brave knight is going to need all the help he can get.
Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is available now on Nintendo Switch and launches on PS4, PC, and Xbox One June 1. You can check out Chris Carter’s review of the Switch edition right here.
