Woah. Deja vu, man. I could’ve sworn that we already told you about a God of War director leaving Sony to do his own thing. Wait, we did! That was David Jaffe. Now, God of War II director Cory Barlog follows and leaves Sony Computer Entertainment for something bigger and better. But what, exactly?
I wish I could tell you. Level Up’s N’Gai Croal has been chatting up Barlog in a multi-part interview, but it looks like we’re one installment away from the big reveal. We do know that Barlog has been working with Australian film writer and director George Miller, who you might know from Babe, The Witches of Eastwick, or Happy Feet. Oh, and Mad Max. They’re working on something videogame related, but it’s anyone’s guess to what they’ve been doing this whole time.
The interviews, while a great read, don’t drop any hints. They do give background on why Barlog decided to leave Sony, and they cover how his relationship with Miller came to be. What they don’t do is spill the beans. For that, you’ll have to hit up Level Up tomorrow.
What do you think Barlog and Miller are working on?
