God of War enthusiasts looking for a God of War III demo in the God of War Collection are searching in the wrong God of War place. The collection — which contains the original title and its sequel — will not come packaged with a demo for the upcoming, but still being developed, game. Director of product development at SCE Santa Monica, John Hight, told IGN that the studio would not have something they’re comfortable with releasing by the time the collection hits.
“First and foremost,” Hight said,” we won’t be able to have this available for this holiday, and we don’t have a demo available yet that we feel is release-ready.”
“I know a lot of people played the E3 demo and dug it and everything but, as far as our standards, it’s not ready to go into everybody’s home. So we wouldn’t want to hinder our efforts to get God of War 1 and 2 out,” said Hight.
Santa Monica never said it would have a demo for the game, so let’s not get too pumped over this revelation. It’s just a bummer for those of us who dig what Kratos is about and really want another crack at God of War III. On the bright side here, a demo is going to happen at some point. Sony would be insane not to get one out there before the game releases.
