If you’re a PlayStation 3 owner, you’re no doubt dying to get your hands on God of War III as soon as possible. According to the game’s producer Stig Asmussen, there are already plans in the works for a demo of the game… it just won’t be what we saw at E3.
The information comes from Asmussen after I mentioned to him that the announced March 2010 release date for God of War III almost seemed too obvious to anyone familiar with the series’ history. All three previous titles in the series shipped in March, making the “Holiday 2009” release date some people had been hoping for unlikely.
As for demos of the game, each had previously been made available to the public a few months prior to its release – the PlayStation 2 demos shipped late in the year prior to its release, with Chains of Olympus for the PSP getting a demo as early as September before release. In the past, these playable sections of the demos had been nearly identical to that which had been shown to media at press events.
He wouldn’t give specifics on method of delivery (i.e. pre-order disc first, followed by a digital download, for instance), but would say that it will be different than what was playable at E3. Whatever the case, “do want”? Certainly, thank you very much.
