GODUS passes funding threshold, introduces stretch goals

Cheer up, Peter

With less than two days to go, 22cans’ GODUS has reached its funding goal of £450,000. The studio has since cooked up some stretch goals and, despite how close the timing ended up being, at least the first couple should be easily achievable. In fact, the first stretch goal at £460k — three additional single- and multiplayer game modes — has already been met.

By the time you read this, it’s entirely possible that the next one, which promises to add functionality so that players can start or join religions in-game, will have been reached as well. Despite lofty goals and Peter Molyneux’s ties to the god-game genre, there was a period when I thought GODUS wasn’t going to make it. I’m glad that’s not the case, if only because I’d rather hear more about this game than Curiosity.
