Sony has announced that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the prequel title to “next year’s” Gran Turismo 5, will be coming to the PlayStation 3 later this year. Available on both Blu-ray disc and as a download over the PlayStation Network, no price has been announced, but the game will obviously not be free as some had previously reported.
Prologue features more than 40 cars, refined driving physics, full 1080p support, and an online mode for up to 16 players. The “Global Online Ranking” system and “My Garage” homepage round out the experience, and should have gearheads snorting at each other over their Bluetooth headsets for hours.
Rounding out the package is the “Online Dealership” (online access to car manufacturers) and “Gran Turismo TV,” a dedicated online motorsport channel, exclusive to PSN. Pretty screenshots below, and more information about Gran Turismo 5 Prologue after that sexy little “View Story” button.
