The realistic visuals mean it’s a graphically demanding game.

Gray Zone Warfare launched on Steam in early access on April 30 and with it currently only available on PC, you need to make sure your own hardware is capable of running it before putting any money down.

For anyone not in the know, Gray Zone Warfare is an immersive tactical FPS that plays similarly to something like Escape from Tarkov. As a member of one of three PMC factions, you explore a mysterious open world island setting to scavenge anything of value you can find and bring it back for your client. However, you’ll have to contend with AI enemies as well as rival players.

Developer Madfinger Games has handily shared what the minimum and recommended PC settings are for Gray Zone Warfare, which we’ve compiled below.

While you should be able to manage fine with the above specs, Madfinger Games has recommended your PC meet the following requirements for the most optimal Gray Zone Warfare experience.

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 64 Bit (latest update) / Windows 11 64 Bit (latest update)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-9700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6800
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 40 GB available space

As you can see, Gray Zone Warfare is a pretty demanding game, no doubt thanks to its push for realistic graphics and its use of Unreal Engine 5. It being an early access title also means it won’t be in the best shape it can possibly be. Madfinger Games will assuredly update and further optimize it throughout its development but, if you want to start playing now, you might want to upgrade your PC so it meets the recommended requirements.

Gray Zone Warfare is currently available for $34.99 / £29.50, though there are more expensive Tactical, Elite, and Supporter Editions you can purchase that come with extra content.
