Both versions will get simultaneous updates
Upon seeing that Guild Wars 2 was getting a Mac version, I had to rub my eyes and look again. Turns out I read it correctly the first time — the game is available for Mac OS X (Lion and Mountain Lion) right now. It’ll be playable at no extra cost for everyone who owns a copy for Windows already.
It’s worth pointing out that this is technically a beta version, but it is hooked up to live servers, meaning Mac gamers can play with the current Guild Wars 2 populous. Through its collaboration with TransGaming, ArenaNet will be able to push future updates for both versions simultaneously.
To grab the new client, head into the account management section of GuildWars2.com. Almost sounds too good to be true, huh?
