Update: In a series of tweets sent out by Arc System Works, it has been announced that all DLC for Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- will be free for the first month, including the three DLC characters:

It was also confirmed that the game will cost $29.99, with a 20% launch week discount:

Following its inclusion on a leaked list of upcoming games, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is finally making its way to Steam. With no pomp and circumstance, developer Arc System Works has used the game’s Steam page to announce not only its existence, but also a release date: December 10.

There’s currently no pre-purchase available, so we won’t know for sure how much Xrd costs until it launches. There are also three characters (Leo, Elphelt and Sin) that can either be bought as DLC or unlocked by grinding in-game currency, but right now we don’t know how much they’ll cost either.

Those DLC characters were introduced on consoles with the 1.1 patch back in February, which is currently the most recent major patch the game has had. This means that the PC port will likely be on the same version number as its console counterparts. Considering Arc System Works doesn’t usually have the best track record of bringing the latest versions of their games to PC, this is a really good sign!

Xrd is the first of Arc System Works’ new-found enthusiasm for the PC, as it’s also announced through its official site that Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late, River City Super Sports Challenge ~All-Star Special~, and BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend will all be hitting the platform by Summer 2016. That’s a lot of anime fightin’ action.

Good job, Arc System Works!
