That’s right, in 2008 the white box of gaming happiness will be getting one of the highest selling franchises of last year. This news comes from the folks at Thetanooki, who early this morning posted an excerpt from Activision’s latest conference call.
Activision CEO Mike Griffith:
“The key difference in our strategy versus the prior cycle, is that in addition to full support on Sony and Microsoft platforms, we will aggressively target the Nintendo platforms consistent with our multi-platform strategy and Nintendo’s expected growth. In fiscal 2008, we will double our offerings on the DS and the Wii, including Spider-Man, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero.”
This is great news for Wii owners. Not just because the Guitar Hero franchise is gilded in awesomeness, but because it also shows that developers are putting effort behind the Wii as a system. Hopefully, this is a sign of solid third party support, something Nintendo hasn’t seen in awhile.
