Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s has become some sort of sick obsession for me. In its currently revealed form, I can guarantee I won’t be purchasing it, but I’ve spent more time discussing, dissecting and analyzing it over the last two days than I have eating, sleeping, masturbating, or telling the story of the girl I went out with who turned out to be a furry, combined.
The official website for the title went live earlier today, and along with providing a home on the ‘net for the upcoming title, it revealed three new tracks from the likes of Accept, Scandal and Oingo Boingo.
As much as I adore the pre-Hollywood work of Danny Elfman, the notable lack of any tracks from The Misfits makes my mascara run. If they want people to see this release as the heir apparent to the Official-Game-of-Drunk-Hipsters-crown held by the previous titles in the series, they’re going to have to do better than generic hair bands and mainstream New Wave.
