The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book
Gust has turned heads with a new PlayStation (3, 4, and Vita) action RPG Yoru no Nai Kuni (something along the line of Land of No Night). It’s much darker (but still pretty) than the Atelier games the company might be best known for.
And if that was for some reason a bummer, you’re in luck, as Gust has announced Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book for PS3, PS4, and Vita. It’s coming to Japan on September 25 and stars 16-year-old alchemist Sophie Neuenmuller and her partner Plachta who is (was?) a book. Like, a book.
The goal of the game is to restore Plachta’s memories. All she can remember is alchemy stuff, so she mentors Sophie in that regard. There’s a day and night cycle, which changes what resources you can find, which NPCs are out to talk with, and which monsters appear for battling.
