The fears of identity theft, credit card fraud, and PSN downtime are absolutely nothing compared to the biggest fear of all — losing one’s Trophies. PlayStation 3 Trophies are more precious than gold and define one as a gamer. Fortunately, they are unaffected by the PSN hacking chicanery.
Sony has assured customers that no loss of data will be suffered as a result of the debacle. As well as Trophies, your download history, friends list and cloud saves will all remain intact. Some gamers were legitimately worried about data loss, so this is a bit of good news at least.
The company has confirmed it is working out a way to apologize to customers with some form of reward, with Patrick Seybold claiming that his team is “evaluating ways to show appreciation for your extraordinary patience.”
