Yesterday, I shared news of Shnabubula’s SNESology, an ongoing musical project in which multiple musicians create brand new songs using the soundsets from SNES games. One of the contributing artists, William Kage, recently released his own collection of solo SNES jams, only he’s offering an extra special treat for those looking for a physical copy.
Halfont is an album of original tracks that uses the instrument sets from Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Secret of Mana, and Super Metroid. Great stuff, of course, but that was never in question! If you want a copy, you can purchase a download for $7 or a CD for $9.
However, for those willing to drop 25 bones, there is a limited-run set that includes a shrink-wrapped SNES box, a custom cartridge (that unfortunately doesn’t play anything), a manual, a friggin’ world map, and the CD itself. Don’t you love it when fans put together cool sh*t like this!? Way to tickle that nostalgia bone!
