During the September 2023 State of Play, PlayStation revealed that Helldivers 2 has been delayed from October 2023 to February 8, 2024. The third-person co-op shooter is the sequel to Helldivers that originally released on PS3, PS4, and PlayStation Vita. We also got a new gameplay trailer that showed off the co-op mission-based gameplay of Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 is making the transition from top-down 2D to third-person 3D. In the video we see a group of four working together to fight a savage Bile Titan enemy, where communication is key. The scripted back-and-forth banter is always a bit corny to me. Let’s be real, no one actually talks like that in the gaming heat of battle. But still, the gameplay looks pretty solid and if there’s meaningful progression I’m definitely down to drop into Helldivers 2 next year.
Helldivers 2 will release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on February 8, 2024.
