When Crysis launched three years ago, its PC specifications were anus-clenchingly demanding. The thing was a monster, and became notorious for requiring the most high-end of computers to run efficiently. Is Crysis 2 going for the same beastliness? Apparently not.
Here’s what you’ll need to get Crysis 2 running, with most PC gamers already declaring it quite reasonable: *
*Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 2GHz or better
* Nvidia 8800 GT or higher
* 2 GB RAM
* Windows XP/Vista/7
* 9 GB free hard disk space
* Internet connection
Most PC gamers are pleased with the specs, although I’m sure some are blaming consoles for “watering down” the requirements. There’s no doubt that the advent of a PS3/360 version must surely have led to some compromise, but I think it’s better to have a game that more people can play, rather than excluding all but the most spend-heavy gamers.
What do you reckon? A case of dumbing down or a pleasant compromise?
