There’s some good ones
April Fools is here again, and for some the best way to fight the weaponization of it in the games industry is to log off the ‘net entirely. I totally get it, even if I’m used to triple-checking things and even if April Fools jokes occasionally become real. So, here’s an easy to browse compilation of a bunch of teases and japes for April Fools 2019.
Aping Alexa seems to be the in thing for the past several years, with several April Fools jokes centering around a far-future or otherwise dangerous AI living in your home. One of my favorite things is when publishers go the extra mile and make their fake games playable. For that reason the Street Fighter V president shoot ’em up (with a High Score Girl tie-in) takes the cake.
