343 Industries has posted a good amount of pictures of the upcoming limited-edition Halo 4 Xbox 360 that should give you a much better idea of what this thing actually looks like. There’s even a detailed description covering how and why the design for the console and controllers arrived at this current iteration.
If you were curious about the custom power and eject sound effects for the system, 343 also has audio at the aforementioned post. I didn’t realize that a limited frequency range and low volume would be such obstacles to overcome in creating those sounds, but the end result seems appropriate for the aesthetic.
