Insane videogame trivia that someone won’t discover until years after the fact and Nintendo sure do go hand in hand. The prime example (I’m so sorry if this is new to you) is surely the “bushes in Super Mario Bros. are simply green-colored clouds” thing. The attached SMB 3 pic is quite the revelation as well.
Continuing in this utterly awesome trend of genuinely neat game facts getting spread to the masses — like all cool-but-ultimately-insignificant factoids — through the Internet one blog post at a time is this discovery by ABoredGameDev on the NinDB Forums.
Through intuition and probably some wild luck, he found out that the GameCube’s menu music shares an uncanny resemblance to the bleeps and bloops of the Famicom Disk System BIOS — when sped up a good twenty-five times.
Stuff like this, especially knowing Nintendo’s remarkable history, is just too ridiculous to be unintentional. Thank you, mysterious Internet person, for making life a tiny bit better with your magical finding.
