Samurott has surprise Dark and Ground-Type attacks
It’s a good day for Generation 5 fans, as Samurott makes its debut in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Anyone who defeats this Water-Type starter Pokemon in its corresponding 7-Star Tera Raid battle will be able to catch it, so naturally, we did just that. Check out all its stats, abilities, and moves below.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Samurott loot list
Here’s everything I earned during my first clear of this battle. As a reminder, you can only catch Samurott once while the event is live. However, you can run the battle continuously for rewards.
- Exp.Candy L x6
- Exp.Candy XL x4
- Protein x5
- Bug Tera Shard x20
- TM088
- Ability Patch X1
- Comet Shard x1
- Rare Candy x2
- Protein x5
- Lonely Mint x1
- Exp. Candy L x5
- Exp. Candy L x3
- PP Up x1
- Exp. Candy L x3
- Rare Candy x2
- Exp. Candy L x3
Overall, the drops are similar to the Decidueye 7-Star encounter, which is to be expected. TM088 (Swords Dance) and the Ability Patch are only guarenteed to drop once, though more Ability Patches may appear if you continue to farm this encounter.

Here are Samurott’s stats:
- HP – 332
- Attack – 259
- Defense – 185
- Sp. Atk – 252
- Sp. Def – 2176

Also like past 7-Star encounters, Samurott will have the Mightiest Mark. This grants it the title of Samurott the Unrivaled.
Does the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Samurott count as a Paldean Pokedex entry?
Nope! The Pokedex will stay at a maximum of 400, regardless of how many event monsters you catch. This may change down the line, but for now, Samurott doesn’t affect your Pokedex completion.
