Somehow not called the ‘Furious’ Edition
Along with confirming the release date for Darksiders III today (basically mirroring the leak from this past weekend), THQ Noric has unveiled the various different editions of the game you can grab. Releasing on November 27 with the standard and collector’s edition, there is a ludicrously expensive $400 “Apocalypse Edition” that blows me away with its price point.
To try and justify that crazy MSRP, the “Apocalypse Edition” will include not only the game and a steelbook but statues of all three main protagonists from the series and one for Vulgrim, the merchant from the series. Buyers will also receive a super large wall scroll as well as an amulet, the game’s soundtrack, an artbook and a stupidly large 47″ wide box.
If you don’t feel like burning an entire paycheck on a single game, you can opt for the $150 “Collector’s Edition” that will come with just the statue of Fury (Darksiders III’s protagonist), the artbook, soundtrack, and steelbook. If you’re cheaper, still, then the standard edition will be available for $59.99 with a pre-order bonus of some armor in-game.
Of course, that isn’t enough, as Darksiders III will also have digital deluxe editions that sound a lot more reasonable in comparison to the physical ones. The regular deluxe download will sell for $79.99 and contain the game with two post-launch DLC packs, the pre-order armor skin, a 10% launch discount and 24-hour early access to the game. The $100 “Blades & Whip” edition will have all the same stuff as the regular deluxe version, just with copies of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition and Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, though both will be locked until November 26.
