Even within Last Epoch’s 13 different class masteries, builds can vary widely. Fortunately, indecisive players like myself don’t need to stress about starting with a perfect build in mind because the game has a great respec system.
How to respec in Last Epoch
You can reset your passives any time you’re in town by visiting the Chronomancer. Head to the map marker that looks like a brain in a skull. For a small amount of gold, the Chronomancer will let you respec passives point by point. When you pay to remove a passive skill point, you’ll be able to immediately place it somewhere else on the skill tree.
That’s not the case for specializations, though they aren’t much harder to respec. You can adjust your skills entirely on the fly anywhere you are. Click on the specialization you want to change and look for the respec button in the upper right hand corner.
Every individual point you remove from the specialization lowers its level by one. You’ll have to earn that point again before you assign it to a new node. If you change specializations entirely, the new skill will start at your minimum specialization level, which is displayed right under the level bar in the upper left hand corner of the window.
As you level up, your minimum specialization level will increase, and after you change specializations, your new skill earns boosted experience until it catches up with the rest of your abilities. As long as you’re busy slaying monsters, it doesn’t take much time to recoup your losses. The respeccing process in Last Epoch is really forgiving, so anyone heading into the game after patch 1.0 should feel completely free to experiment.
