How long do you have to play before you can…play the actual game?
Exoprimal is out, partially thanks to its Game Pass debut, tons of prospective players are logging in to blow up some dinos. Here’s how long it actually takes to get to the core game and start matchmaking.
The Exoprimal tutorial is roughly 15 minutes – once you’re done, you can start matchmaking
Interestingly, Capcom has added a bit of its single-player magic to Exoprimal. Although it’s a hero/class shooter at heart, it also has a narrative that worms its way into matchmaking, which really comes to the forefront in the tutorial. Expect said tutorial to take roughly 15 minutes of your time to complete, including cutscenes.
Here’s a quick breakdown of how it all plays out:
- With an intro cutscene, you’ll be introduced to the world of Exoprimal, where combatants suit up and take on hordes of dinos.
- There’s a quick five-minute tutorial on the basics, which consists of a firing range, and a demo of all three classes (damage, tank, support).
- After that, you’ll be whisked away on a short mission, which you’ll complete with a squad of bots. It sets the tone for the bulk of Exoprimal‘s gameplay. You cannot pause this mission or “quit” from the options menu.
After that, you are good to go. The main menu of Exoprimal will open up, which includes the core mode of Dino Survival, as well as individual upgrade tracks and access to the season pass.
Can you skip cutscenes in Exoprimal?
If you want this to go by even quicker, you can skip cutscenes, including the ones present in the tutorial! All you need to do is hold down Circle/B during a scene and you’re good to go.
