Shadow of the Erdtree’s many draped forts can be a little tricky to access. In fact, the most challenging thing about them is just figuring out how to get inside them. The Ruins of Unte are no different, so let’s take a look at the somewhat cryptic way of getting inside.
How to get to the Ruins of Unte
These ruins are found just southeast of Shadow Keep, but you’ll need to take a secret pathway from the Shadow Keep to get there.
From the Main Gate plaza Grace, head right through the steel doors if you’re able. If you haven’t unlocked this shortcut, just venture through the dungeon normally until you see flaming boats as in the image below: this is the only area with these and they’ll be a key landmark.
Check the image for a sneaky ladder you’ll need to descend, after which you’ll head through the waterfall and attack the illusory wall shown in the following image:
At the bottom of the aqueduct hidden behind the illusory wall you’ll be getting in a coffin, as is customary. You’ll emerge from the following room facing the Unte Ruins, shown on the map below:
Next, we need Hefty Furnace Pots
Next off: make sure you have the Greater Potentate’s Cookbook [2]. This can be found in the Run Down Traveler’s Rest, shown below.
If you have the ability to craft Hefty Furnace Pots already, great! Let’s move on.
There’s a Furnace Golem blocking the way inside the Ruins (he’s already dealt with in my image, so use your imagination), so stand in the area shown and chuck a Hefty Furnace Pot into his cranium to wake him up:
With that, the Furnace Golem will rise and you can defeat him or just sneak your way inside.
Unte Ruins loot
The Giant Golden Arc Incantation and the stone slab needed to create the Sword of Light are inside the Unte Ruins. The sword you’ll need to place on the slab is located in the far-flung Rauh Ancient Ruins across an invisible bridge.
The Incantation, which requires 34 Faith, is a wide arc projectile shot straight out from the player. The Sword of Light is likewise Faith-themed straight sword with a unique Weapon Art. Clerics and crusaders, rejoice! Everyone else.. Well, it was fun to explore, right?
