While working your way through the main quests in Warframe, you’re going to come across all sorts of mission types. While most are easy to understand, some, like Capture, have objectives that should be easy but fill you with panic as you play them.
Most missions in Warframe are pretty straightforward. You’re walked through them from start to finish, killing enemies and completing objectives or defending specific locations. However, missions such as Capture are a change of pace, putting more onus on you to hunt down an enemy and grab them. When I first played one of these missions, I had no idea what I needed to do and was petrified that I’d fail the fairly lengthy mission by killing the target.
How to capture targets in Warframe
To capture targets in a Capture mission in Warframe, you need to fight through the area until you find your target. Once you’ve found them, you need to attack that enemy until they kneel on the ground and beg for mercy. When they do, you’ll be able to get close to them and interact with them when you see a button prompt.
After you’ve interacted with the enemy, you’ll start the capture sequence, which will cause your Tenno to pause for a moment while they complete the transfer of the target. Now you’ve done this, you can make your way to the end of the mission and extract.
Note that you should try to stop attacking your target once they fall to their knees. You don’t want to kill them, but I’m pretty sure you also can’t kill them once they hit this state. I was using Protea Prime‘s grenade ability and managed to complete the mission without any issues.
The biggest issue you’ll likely have in a Capture mission is finding and keeping track of your target. When I played my first one, I spent much longer than I usually do in the mission, just looking for the target amid a slew of enemies and random paths that didn’t really line up on Mars.
When I finally found the target, they ran away, and other enemies swarmed me to block my path. Killing enemies is obviously a massive part of Warframe and something you should do when you’re trying to upgrade your weapons, but in a Capture mission, those enemies just get in the way. You’re better off ignoring them and chasing down your target to end the mission as quickly as possible unless you have time to spare and want to get as much experience for your equipment as possible.
