Coral Island is all about change and new beginnings, where you cultivate a farm and date staggeringly attractive people. Like in real life, I’m sure. Despite the theme, can you also change your Coral Island character name and farm later?

When you start the game, you’re presented with many options for your playable character. You can pick hair, eye shape and color, as well as body shape, a prefix, and more. Despite its Humble design, Coral Island does offer a decent amount of customization options. You can also choose your name and the name of your farm. But are the names permanent?

Can you change your character and farm name in Coral Island?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear you can change your name or the name of your farm in Coral Island quite yet. For the most part, once you pick something, you’re stuck with it. So, you better choose wisely before setting off on what could be dozens of hours with a name like “Pickled Jam.”

You’re not completely stuck with your initial customization options, however. The game does provide the ability to change your look for a small fee. To do so, open up your map and look for the building with the scissors icon. That’s the Hair Salon, which opens up at around 9 am (and noon on Sunday) except for Mondays or Saturdays.

The barber is where you can change your whole you. Just like when you started the game, you get access to facial features, hairstyles, and body types. Indeed, you can change just about everything except for your name. You also get more clothing options later on.

It costs 500 coins to alter yourself, so be sure to show up with some cash. Oh, and pet Butter the cat before you head in. It’s the proper thing to do.

Stardew Valley, the game that Coral Island closely follows, has offered the option to change names for a few years now. But players did have to wait some years for its arrival in update 1.5. Hopefully it won’t take as long for the option to reach the players of Coral Island.
