Dim Forest can be considered one of the most tricky areas to explore early on in Wuthering Waves, but that’s not because of its enemies. Instead, the reason lies in how the area’s heart is filled with toxic spores that quickly force the Rover to back away.
To help all looking to explore the sub-region freely and get an extra Astrite sum, here’s how to eliminate all of the Dim Forest toxic spores in Wuthering Waves.
How to clear All of the Dim Forest Toxic Spores in Wuthering Waves
You can clear the toxic spores in Wuthering Waves by completing the When the Forest is No Longer Dim Exploration quest. The quest will task the Rover with helping Qiaomu and the rest of the research team in their efforts to stop the spores’ propagation and counter its effects. When the Forest is No Longer Dim will become available automatically once you reach Union level 20 and will take 30 to 40 minutes to complete.
As you can only destroy the Offshoot Cores responsible for their propagation together with Qiaomu, taking part in the quest is the only way to deal with the spores. So, I’m sorry for all hoping to be able to do so before reaching the level cap. During the quest, all of the cores can be destroyed in the same fashion. You can check out an overview of how to do it below.
How to destroy the Offshoot Cores in When the Forest is No Longer Dim
You can destroy all Offshoot Cores by rotating the drones around them so that the current will travel through them until it reaches the one capable of directing it to the core. Once the current is directed to it, the core will be destroyed, and you will progress through the quest. You can rotate the drones by attacking them.
To make the process easier, I recommend that you use pistol-wielding characters like Mortefi or Chixia, as they will be able to shoot the drones from afar or from a vantage point. That extra range means way less backing off, putting your quest at hand clear time on the shorter end.
Now that you know how to clear the spores and fully unlock the area for exploration, don’t forget to also check out how to get a 4-star weapon of your choice in exchange for Lampylumen in Wuthering Waves.
