The first task you can obtain from the Vendor Gunny in Gray Zone Warfare is Cache Retrieval. The Cache Retrieval task sends you into the nearby starter town to mark two separate caches with markers. Here is how to complete the Cache Retrieval task in Gray Zone Warfare including how to get the GPS trackers required.
Where to mark the caches
The two cache locations for the Cache Retrieval task can be found in the Warehouse and the Lumberyard of the three starter towns. Even though each faction has its own starter town, all three have a Warehouse and Lumberyard which is where you will be marking the caches for this task. Here is where you can find both cache locations for each faction:
- Mithras Security Systems – Lumberyard is at 172, 119 in Nam Thaven, Warehouse is at 172,117 in Nam Thaven
- Crimson Shield International – Lumberyard is at 141, 161 in Kiu Vongsa, Warehouse is at 140, 163 in Kiu Vongsa
- Lamang Recovery Initiative – Lumberyard is at 200, 162 in Pha Lang, Warehouse is at 201, 164 in Pha Lang
Both the Warehouse and the Lumberyard have a specific location for their cache. For the Lumberyard, you want to head to the front gate of the actual yard itself and look for the small unlocked room on the left. Inside you’ll find some stacked boxes and crates, which is the cache. Hold the ‘F’ key to Hide the Tracker which will update your objective for Cache Retrieval.
As for the Warehouse, you want to look outside to the right of the warehouse. You’ll find the same thing: a pile of stacked crates and boxes. As before, hold the ‘F’ key to Hide the Tracker in the cache and complete the objective.
How to get the GPS Trackers to complete Cache Retrieval
In order to mark each cache location, you will need a GPS Tracker. When you first pick up the Cache Retrieval task from Gunny, he will give you two GPS Trackers. However, if you die you will need to head back to Base Camp and open the Vendors tab, and go to Gunny.
From here, click the Trade tab then scroll all the way down to the bottom. You will see the Gunny is selling additional Trackers for $50 each. You will need two in order to mark each cache for Cache Retrieval, so expect to spend $100 on new Trackers.
Once you’ve marked both caches, return to Base Camp and click the Vendors tab then Tasks and click the yellow Complete button to finish the Cache Retrieval task. Completing Cache Retrieval will earn you the following rewards:
