Oswald the lucky rabbit’s level 10 friendship quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley will see you turned into the conductor of the same trolley which featured in the 1927 Oswald short “Trolley Troubles”. The trolley is still causing issues though, so hands and feet inside at all times and buckle in.
Erratic Transportation is, once again, a pretty grindy and long quest. There’s a large amount of resources to gather, and a lot of steps to get through.
How to complete Erratic Transportation in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The first step of this quest is relatively simple. Upon speaking to Oswald, he’ll tell you that he’s lost his Vintage Trolley Conductors Hat. In order to find it, you’ll need to use your Royal Hourglass in Ancient’s Landing. The location for this hat may vary, but I found mine on the little island where Eve’s house is when you first arrive on Eternity Isle.
Once you’ve found the hat, head back to Oswald and after talking, he’ll give you the hat and tell you to put it on. You must keep this hat on while completing the first step of Erratic Transportation (while you’re gathering items and crafting), but I’ll let you know when you can take it off.
How to craft the Trolley and Trolley Tracks in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Before you can craft the Trolley and 10 Trolley Tracks, you’ll need to gather up some resources:
- 10 Ancient Belts
- Found everywhere when using your Royal Hourglass
- 120 Plastic Scrap
- Found when fishing on the Docks in Ancient’s Landing anywhere without a fishing spot, as well as dropping when Rubble is demolished
- 8 Bones
- Found when digging anywhere in the Glittering Dunes, can also be fished up anywhere without a fishing spot in the Glittering Dunes
- 10 Zinc
- Found when mining in the Wild Tangle
- 50 Copper
- Found when mining anywhere on Eternity Isle, as well as dropping when Copper Rocks are destroyed
- 80 Tropical Wood
- Dropped from trees in the Wild Tangle, as well as dropping when destroying Evil Plants
Once you’ve gathered this items, head to a Crafting Bench and craft both the Newborn Trolley and the Trolley Tracks, which you’ll find located in the Fences and Paving tab.
When crafted, use the 10 tracks anywhere on Eternity Isle or in the Valley itself. If you want to build a closed circuit, you’ll need four corner pieces and six straight pieces. When they’re placed down, you can head back to Oswald to discuss the Trolley itself.
After putting a bow on the Newborn Trolley, because apparently every Trolley needs a bow, Oswald will give it back to you and tell you to put it down somewhere. You don’t need to put it near the Tracks you’ve already placed, but wherever you put it, a photo opportunity will take place.
Good news! You can now take the Conductors Hat off.
How to find the missing Trolley in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Trolley seems to have been spooked during the photo opportunity and thanks to its wheels, it fled the scene. After the debacle with the alarm clocks in An Alarming Development, we can’t have another of Oswald’s contraptions wandering around the Isle for too long, so in order to find it, you’ll need to craft some missing posters.
Find Rapunzel and, upon talking to her, she’ll lend you some of her art supplies in order to get started, but you’ll also need a couple of other things:
- 5 Octopus
- Fished up in the Docks in Ancient’s Landing from blue fishing spots
- 1 Tropical Wood
- Found in the Wild Tangle
Once you have all of these, make sure they’re in your inventory and then head back to Oswald, who will take them and turn them into Missing Posters. Once he’s given them back, he’ll tell you to put them in the following locations:
- One near Eve’s house
- One near Scrooge’s store
- One near Gaston’s house
- One near Rapunzel’s house
- One near the Cave of Wonders
Once placed, check back in with Oswald to discover the fate of the Trolley.
How to get the Trolley down in Disney Dreamlight Valley
It turns out that the Newborn Trolley has been spotted flying over the waters in Ancient’s Landing, because why on earth would a Trolley not be able to fly? As one always should in times of weirdness, you’ll need to snap a photo of the Trolley before returning to Oswald.
Oswald will tell you that you need to cook up a plan to get the Trolley down, but he won’t go too into specifics. In order to complete this step, head to a Cooking Station and use the following ingredients to make a meal:
- 1 Paper
- Oswald provides this as part of the quest
- 1 Dates
- Foraged from trees within the Glittering Dunes
- 1 Nestling Pear
- Foraged from trees in Ancient’s Landing
To make this easier, once you’re at the cooking pot, select the recipes button in the top left corner. The ‘Cooked-Up Recipe’ will be at the top of the recipe list. Once you’ve cooked up a plan on this piece of paper, the only thing left to do is eat it. Yes, we’re going to eat a notebook. I find it best not to ask questions at this point.
After consuming the stationary item, you’ll be inspired to talk to Eve. Find her and ask for some help to get the Trolley back on solid ground and she’ll hand over five flares that can be used as part of a Landing Strip
How to craft the Landing Strip in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The final part of this quest is simple, you just need to make a Landing Strip using the following resources:
- 5 Bones
- Found when digging anywhere in the Glittering Dunes, can also be fished up anywhere without a fishing spot in the Glittering Dunes
- 2 Electric Power
- 1 Copper
- Found when mining anywhere on Eternity Isle or from Copper Rocks
- 3 Electric Eels
- Fished up from golden fishing spots in The Grasslands or The Promenade
- 1 Copper
- 1 Brass Ingot
- 3 Copper
- Found when mining anywhere on Eternity Isle or from Copper Rocks
- 2 Zinc
- Found when mining in the Wild Tangle
- 1 Coal Ore
- Found when mining anywhere, also purchased at Kristoff’s Stall for 5 Star Coins
- 3 Copper
Once you’ve got these, craft up the Landing Strip and place it down near the Docks in Ancient’s Landing. The Trolley will come back down to earth and Oswald will reward you with the Trolley itself, as well as his level 10 reward, the Zoot Suit.
