If you ever needed proof that Mike Wasowski has anything but good taste in Disney Dreamlight Valley, his level four friendship quest will provide that proof. Monstrously Good Taste involves a sun-ripened rotten fish cologne and it’s as bad as it sounds.
In order to pick up this quest, you’ll need to have completed Mike’s level two quest, Germs Abound, and get him up to level four friendship. You can do this fairly quickly by giving him flowers.
How to complete Monstrously Good Taste
Talk to Remy
Having revealed that he wants to make some Cologne to sell in Scrooge’s store, Mike will send you off to speak to Remy in order to get your hands on the main ingredient — a spoiled Carp.
Take this fish back to Mike and then everything gets so much worse, subjectively speaking.
Plant the Spoiled Carp on Dazzle Beach
In order to let the scent of the fish mature, as if it needed any help, you’ll need to plant it somewhere on Dazzle Beach and let the sun’s warmth do the work. To do this, use your Shovel to dig a hole in the sand and plant the fish as you usually would a seed.
It takes 15 minutes for the sun to work its ‘magic’, then you can harvest the fish and return to Mike.
Craft Monstrous Cologne
As well as the now incredibly rotten carp, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 7 Rich Soil
- 5 Empty Vials
Head to a Crafting Station and find the Monstrous Cologne in the Functional Items tab. Craft three of them, before heading to Scrooge. Spoiler alert, he thinks it smells horrible, so you need to try it out on other villagers instead, namely Scar and Vanellope. Another spoiler alert, they’re not too interested in the disastrous Cologne either.
Make a Gourmet Rot Dog
Having realised that his talents may not lay in Cologne invention, Mike turns his attention to food instead. That said, I’m not sure his talents lay in the culinary field, either.
To make the Rot Dog, you’ll need to had to Scar’s cave and find one of his Hairballs on the floor, as well as the following ingredients:
- 1 Wheat
- 1 Milk
- 1 Clam
Use this questionable mix of ingredients at any Cooking Station in order to cook a Gourmet Rot Dog before giving it to Remy to taste. Yet another spoiler alert, he thinks it tastes like trash, but Mike and Sulley will go on to bond over the dish and the quest will be done.
