After completing the Dull Steel, Cold Forge quest, another adventure awaits in the scorching Mountain Base Cave. Thus begins the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge quest, which involves a challenging time-restricted objective.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge quest guide
When you return to Brokkr’s Smithy to check Sara’s progress, you’ll be notified of her disappearance in the Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge quest. This area is not accessible until the main quest, A New Godsway, has been completed, but make sure you don’t go beyond that to avoid the Dragon’s Dogma 2 point of no return. With the Flamebearer Palace Spellseal Door open, the Mountain Base Cave should now be available.
I recommend starting from the Volcanic Island Camp since it’s easier to travel to the cave from there. Go through the entrance of the Mountain Base Cave and follow the initial path with wooden boards. You should also eliminate any enemies and note down the route to Sara, as you must backtrack by the end of the mission. At the same time, pick up the Winter’s Path grimoires on the path to unleash an icy blow to the fiery foes.
Deliver Sara to cave entrance in Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge quest
Once you uncover Sara’s locations, a time limit begins, where you’ll need to backtrack. To avoid getting lost, follow this road:
Those who take the stairway on the left side should eventually reach the same route as the one above. However, the cave has several dead ends, so be wary of these locations. I find it best to familiarize yourself with the route first before interacting with Sara. Once it’s time to escort her, things move pretty fast, and she may even tell you that time is running out in just a few minutes. So, prepare beforehand to get a straight shot out of the cave.
Now comes the hard part of returning to Brokkr’s Smithy in Battahl. You can try to make your way back through Drabnir’s Grotto (on the left of Mountain Base Cave) or use a Ferrystone for a nearby Portcrystal. Then, it’ll all conclude in Vernworth Castle, back where the quest line first started. Fortunately, all this back-and-forth travel rewards you with a hefty sum of gold once you speak to Roman.
