It’s just a little bit of labor
The Baby’s Coming is potentially one of the first quests you’ll find in Octopath Traveler 2. Located in Cape Cold, you’ll find a frantic father-to-be looking for his family’s midwife to safely deliver their new baby. You’re given a few clues on how to solve this quest, but they become easy to lose track of if you’re still uncovering the starting towns. Fortunately, your solution here isn’t too complex.
You’ll need at least one party member who can recruit NPCs to the party. This could be either Temenos or Agnea during the daytime, with Partitio or Ochette also doing the job with their night Path Actions. The likelihood that you’re using none of those party members is low, so you should be good to go. Here’s what you need to do.
Where to find the midwife
To find the midwife the Flustered Villager is looking for, go to Flamechurch. This is Temenos’ starting location, so follow his icon on the map if you haven’t discovered it yet. Once you’re there, look inside the inn near the village’s entrance. You’ll find an NPC by the door with the title “Midwife,” which is who you’re searching for. Use your recruitment Path Action of choice and add her to your party.
Once she’s following you, fast travel back to Cape Cold by opening your map. Talk to the Flustered Villager again and you’ll see a small scene play out. From here, you’ll obtain 3000 Leaves and a Nourishing Nut before receiving a notification that the quest “The Baby’s Coming” has been completed. Congratulations, you did it!
