In the first half of NieR Replicant, there are a ton of layered and compelling side-quests to embark upon. One such quest, “The Missing Girl,” has the player character and Grimoire Weiss hunting down a missing person in the desert city known as Facade.
To complete this quest, however, you’ll be taken on an emotional rollercoaster. It’s no surprise, what with this being a NieR game, but regardless — how do you complete “The Missing Girl” quest?
Where to start The Missing Girl quest in NieR Replicant
To accept this quest, you’ll need to first talk with an NPC located near the Strange-Thing Store to the northwest of Facade, near the city’s exit. The NPC asks you to find their daughter, who’s been missing for several days by this point, and you can choose to help or not. You’re told the girl was likely wearing a gold ring that doubles as a family heirloom, and that’s the only clue to be spoken of.
From here, you need to ask around town if anyone has any clues regarding the girl’s disappearance. It could seem a daunting challenge, but your next stop is actually a few levels above your location. Near a sand-fall are two NPCs, one with a square head. Talk with this NPC and they’ll tell you they saw the girl at the lowest level of Facade recently.
Your next stop shouldn’t be far; jump to the lowest level of the city until you see a series of alcove spaces earmarked by a series of stair-like monoliths. There will be blood stains you can interact with next to the leftmost alcove, which will cause you to fear for the girl’s ultimate fate. You’ll need to then go speak with the missing girl’s boyfriend, who stands guard near the city’s entrance.
As you approach the door leading to the city’s entrance/exit, the girl’s boyfriend will be marked with a speech bubble. In chatting with him, you learn that he believes he accidentally killed the girl and buried her corpse outside the city. Leave Facade and venture out into the desert until you pass a stone well on your left — this is where the girl’s boyfriend says he disposed of her body. But, no body can be found.
Rewards for completing The Missing Girl quest in NieR Replicant
Return to the city and the original NPC who asked you to find the missing girl. It turns out the girl is alive and well, much to the surprise of everyone involved — including the boyfriend. In exchange for finishing this quest, you’ll be rewarded with a modest sum of 10,000 gold.
