With the introduction of Season of Discovery to World of Warcraft Classic, Blizzard is shaking up the decades-old gameplay with runes. These runes grant classes abilities they wouldn’t normally have otherwise, like the Warlock’s Metamorphosis Rune. Here’s how to get the Rogue’s first rune in the Thrice Stolen quest.
How to get the Shadowstrike Rune in WoW Season of Discovery
The Shadowstrike Rune is usable by Rogues and can be engraved on gloves. Once equipped, it allows Rogues, once in stealth, to teleport behind their target, dealing 150% weapon damage. Additionally, you’ll be awarded one combo point to get the gank train rolling.
Humans
The Rogue Trainer, Jorik Kerridan, has pilfered a rune from the Abbey in Northshire before getting mugged by the Defias Brotherhood. Once you reach level two, talk to the miscreant lurking in the stables to get the Thrice Stolen quest.
The human version of this quest is considerably easier than what the dwarves and gnomes have to put up with. Check southwest of the vineyard to see a pair of outhouses. Nestled in between the two will be a chest containing the rune.
Dwarves & Gnomes
Since dwarves and gnomes share a starting zone, the pint-sized Rogues get the Thrice Stolen quest from the same place. Upon hitting level two, talk to Solm Hargrin in Anvilmar.
The chest containing the run is in the Frostmane Troll cave south of Anvilmar (27.5, 80.1). Head deep inside until you’re on the high ledge overlooking the largest room. There will be a small ledge near Grik’nier that hosts the chest.
