Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 Reloaded introduces a new Story Mission for Zombies Act 4. It dives further into Dr. Ava Jansen’s story and requires solving a few puzzles along the way. Here’s how to complete Union in MW3 Zombies.
MW3 Zombies Union Story Mission guide
As with previous missions, head to the new extract point to start the Union mission. I recommend upgrading your weapon to Level 3 with Pack-a-Punch or at least Level 2. While it’s possible to tackle this solo, the experience is enhanced with a team. To complete Union in MW3 Zombies, achieve the following objectives:
- Investigate and destroy two Crystals – Solve two puzzles
- Cleanse three Relics – Eliminate zombies near the seal
- Cleanse the final Relic – Defeat Taoxia
MW3 Zombies Union Crystal puzzle solutions
The initial puzzles in Union can be quite challenging, especially when a horde of zombies is breathing down your neck. Start by locating one of the Crystal waypoints on the map and activating it. Keep an eye out for three orbs that will emerge from it. These orbs will travel to specific slabs with a symbol design. Ping it to mark their locations for later.
You should see a sequence of the same symbols at the Crystal. Using this information, shoot the slabs in the correct order:
If you are stuck, shoot the wrong slab (out of order) to reset the puzzle. The orbs will release again once you reactivate the Crystal, so make sure to follow them. Keep in mind that the locations of the slabs and sequences can be randomized, as I’ve observed in my own gameplay.
Cleanse the Relics
After you’ve destroyed the crystals, return to Ravenov’s position and locate Dr. Jansen. This will result in breaking three seals marked around the map. Shoot enemies within the seal’s vicinity and wait for it to load up fully.
The final seal unleashes the formidable boss, Taoxia. As long as you have PAP Level 3, you can take them down quickly. The only problem is that other zombies will be there to stir up some more trouble. That’s why a team-based strategy is likely the best option for both the puzzle and boss fight.
When the showdown’s over, collect the Giraffe Toy, one of the keys to a new Dark Aether Rift. Save that for later and leave the Dark Aether you are currently in. Be sure to follow Dr. Jansen closely to finish MW3 Zombies Union, as a deadly toxic cloud will be closing in.
