How to complete Villager of the Month in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Who will it be?

Disney Dreamlight Valley Villager of the Month ceremony

Building your friendship with Sulley in Disney Dreamlight Valley involves undertaking quests and the second of these is Villager of the Month. This single quest branches off in three directions, so there’s plenty to do.

You’ll need to have completed Sulley’s previous friendship quest, Monster Movie Night, and have reached level four friendship with him. The easiest way to do this, as always, is to thrust flowers upon him until his friendship level increases.

How to complete Villager of the Month

Like I said, Villager of the Month actually splits off into three separate quests with three different villagers. For each, you’ll have to do something specific in order to progress the main Villager of the Month quest with Sulley.

Of the three branch quests, you should begin this one first, because it involves planting and harvesting crops. If you plant these crops before heading off to complete the other two branches of Villager of the Month, the crops will be fully grown and ready to harvest when you’re done.

To complete Mikes branch of Villager of the Month, you’ll need to plant:

  • Two Carrots – Seeds can be bought at Goofy’s stall in Peaceful Meadow
  • Two Corn – Seeds can be bought at Goofy’s Stall on Dazzle Beach
  • Two Bell Peppers – Seeds can be bought at Goofy’s stall in the Forest of Valor

These crops take a maximum of 15 minutes to grow and once you’ve harvested them, take them to Mike. He’ll suggest that you talk to Remy for advice on the recipe for Hodgepodge a la Monstropolis. Remy, in his infinite culinary wisdom, sends you to the Restaurant where he has recently put down Fresh Compost.

Once you’ve picked up the two Compost piles, head into the restaurant (or to any other Cooking Station) and cook up two batches of Hodgepodge a la Monstropolis.

How to complete Villager of the Month: Donald

Donald is on an environmental mission and wants to clean up the trash that has suddenly appeared on Dazzle Beach, but he wants proof of his good endeavors and asks you to take his photo near the trash.

Head to Dazzle Beach and wait for Donald to show up and take three photos. As long as you’ve got Donald and a trash pile in the photo, it will count. You don’t need to save them and all three photos can be taken at the same trash pile.

Once you’ve handed the photos off to Donald, use your Shovel to remove all of the trash piles from the beach (because apparently Donald is a little workshy) and then return to Donald. He’ll give you a doctored photo to pass on to Sulley, who doesn’t believe it for a second.

How to complete Villager of the Month: Ursula

Hearing about the Villager of the Month competition, Ursula wants to use the opportunity to curry favor with the other villagers. To do this, she’ll ask you to craft some Perfume for her.

For the perfume, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 6 Seaweed
  • 3 Purple Hydrangeas
  • 6 Purple Rising Penstemons
  • 3 Empty Vials

Once you’ve got these, head to a Crafting Station and find ‘Perfume of the Sea Enchantment’ in the Functional Items tab. Craft three and return to Ursula, who will send you off to deliver one each to Merlin, Mike and Goofy.

Return to Sulley

Once you’ve completed the branching quests, head back to Sulley to find that he’s decided who the Villager of the Month is. Sadly, it’s not Mike, and Sulley asks you to break this news to his friend.

Mike, rather than being upset, uses this disappointment as motivation to do better the following month.

Return to Mike and he’ll give you the Villager of the Month award to place in the Valley. Once you do so, you’ll trigger a photo opportunity, which marks the end of Sulley’s level 4 friendship quest.
