There’s nothing worse than getting bitten or falling ill from a toxic barrel. Thankfully, I know just the trick to cure poison in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to craft a potion to cure poison in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To cure poison in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can create a Detoxifying Decoction. The game’s item description says it “counteracts poisons and venoms.” Additionally, it’s only 0.10kg so you can easily carry many of them on your person or your pawn at one time.
During my travels within the game, I’ve found that mixing Syrupwort Leaf and Pitywort creates this healing liquid. Unfortunately, it isn’t as easy as mixing the commonly found Greenwarish with fruit like Grapes, Strawberries, and Apples to make Salubrious Draught.
Both the Syrupwort Leaf and Pitywort can be found near Melve. The first is spotted south of the Borderwatch Outpost across the river. I found one by the other side of the non-existent bridge from the Borderwatch Outpost. The Syrupwort Leaf can be found all over the Vermund area, however. The leaves are purplish-red with yellowing vines. Pitywort grows north of Melve near Martyr’s Resting Place; this is where a pawn in my party found it.
Where to buy Detoxifying Decoction
You can purchase the Detoxifuing Decoction in Dragon’s Dogma 2 from Philbert’s Sundries for 500G. It is northwest of the Merchant Quarter and left of Bjorn’s Armory in Vernworth. The store will have nine of the potions in stock.
Other tips to counter poison
If you have no potions to cure poison, there are some other ways to counter this status effect. First, try to save often. Despite the disappointing lack of multiple save files, you can retreat to a prior save. Another reason why you’d want to save often is because you can lose a significant amount of progress. When I first began my journey into this fantasy world, I had to start from the beginning after getting killed by a boss and wanting to get to a prior part of the game.
While the poison racks up damage on your character over time, it would be best to have a healing pawn by your side. Summon a pal that has a blue spike-like emblem next to their name and level. If they’re in your party, they’ll embrace you with a healing circle when you’re low in vitality.
Some armor can help you with poison resistance. At Bjorn’s Armory, you can buy the General’s Mantle for 9125G and the Friar’s Hood for 8100G. They both provide 2% extra resistance to the ailment. Look to the bottom right of the shop screen and you’ll see the Debilitation Res stats. The Beastren Mask from the Checkpoint Rest Town’s Ibrahim’s Scrap Store at 8700G provides a great 8% increased resistance as well.
