Dragonriding is easy. Well, if this isn’t your first expansion! Adapting the existing flight system from years past with a twist: World of Warcraft Dragonflight adds the ability to fly almost immediately: with a twist.

Here are some of the customization options involved in that process, and how to unlock them.

Unlock dragonriding at the Ruby Lifeshrine

Several hours into the expansion, you’ll come across the Ruby Lifeshrine: one of the core hubs of Dragonflight. It’s here that you’ll unlock dragonriding, right in the city itself.

Go to the Rostrum of Transformation

After unlocking dragonflight capabilities in the expansion, you’ll immediately be introduced to the dragon customization system. You’ll customize your horns as part of the quest: the items will be given to you by the questgiver (Lord Andestrasz) after finishing the riding tutorial.

From then on, the Rostrum of Transformation will be highlighted on your map with a gold dragon head icon.

How to acquire more dragon transformation options

You’ll get more customization options through “Drakewatcher Manuscripts,” which can be found in the overworld or doled out via quests. Many of them will come through reputation grinding, as well as profession-based questlines and tasks.

All you need to do is click the Drakewatcher Manuscript items in your inventory to add them to your cache of customizations.
