The 2020 RPG has had massive success with its open-world exploration and command-based free combat. While the gameplay can seem simple, there are a lot of little quirks that open up many opportunities. From that, Tales of Arise gives those who find those out massive rewards. One of those is the Icicle Fang, which can be found only by using one of your party member’s Boost Attacks in combat.

What is an Icicle Fang?

An Icicle Fang is one of the materials needed to craft certain weapons in Tales of Arise. In particular, the item is used in making the Refined Flare Claw for Alphen. You’ll need two of them to craft the item. The weapon also requires the Flare Claw and Keen Gigafang and is necessary to get the Supreme Flare Claw. If you have extra, they can be sold for 150 Gald.

You can find Icicles Fangs in the Shinefall Woods in Ganath Haros. Specifically, you’ll need to fight Wild Boars, which can only be found within the jungle. Only a handful of boars are there, but they respawn whenever you leave the area. There are other enemies that’ll spawn with the boars, but typically you can find yourself battling at least two or three if approached.

How to Farm Icicle Fangs

In order to farm Icicle Fangs, it’s best to put Kisara on your team. The boars charge at you as an attack, so her Boost Attack will stop them. It’s important to note that you need to Boost Break the boars, as it’s the only way to destroy their tusks, which give you the Icicle Fangs. You won’t receive an Icicle Fang if you kill a boar without breaking its tusks.

The best way to avoid that is to set your team to Do Nothing, which will stop your party from attacking. When Kisara’s Boost Attack is ready and a Wild Boar charges at you, go for it. If you do it all correctly, you should have a decent amount of Icicle Fangs at the end of your first go around Shinefall Woods. If you want more, as previously mentioned, leave the area and return to see all the Wild Boars again.

For those playing the original Tales of Arise, a new expansion titled Beyond the Dawn is available for purchase. Set after the events of the game, you’ll be treated to an all-new story and over 20+ hours of content. If you enjoyed the game, you’ll find a lot to do in it and much more.
