Mithril is the hardest metal ore to find in Hytale, and it’s a relatively endgame resource by current standards. While obtaining it is a challenge in itself, Mithril will allow you to make the best armors and weapons you can get in the game.
This guide will list down the easiest ways of obtaining Mithril, and also highlight how to effectively use it.

Best Mithril locations in Hytale
The best spot to find Mithril is Zone 4, which is arguably one of the most dangerous places in the entire game. You’ll specifically want to search the volcanic regions (or fire zones). Look deeper into the cave walls, and you will find Mithril embedded in them.
You can also find them in underground areas. If you try to extract Mithril in Zone 4, bring the best possible gear. This area has plenty of strong enemies that are hard to take down for beginners. Only approach when you’ve improved your build.

Zone 4 also has a skeleton boss. Defeating him drops different loot, which can also include Mithril. Again, you’ll need proper gear to complete this challenge. You can also find Mithril appearing randomly in the Whisperfront Frontiers biome, but they spawn sporadically. The Whisperfront Frontiers biome is a better source of Cobalt instead.

Important note: I only found Mithril in Creative. I am unsure if it’s available in the Exploration mode as of writing. If you, my reader, have found any in the Exploration mode, please let me know in the comments.
How to use Mithril in Hytale
You’ll first need to have a Furnace to convert the raw Mithril to Mithril Ingots. You’ll also need a fuel source for the process. Once done, you can then use Mithril to make the following items.

- Mithril weapons
- Mithril Helm
- Mithril Cuirass
- Mithril Gauntlets
- Mithril Greaves
- Mithril Shield
While Mithril might be hard to obtain, the armor pieces using them have the best defensive stats. If you’re getting ready for the endgame content, you’re going to need Mithril.
