Solafite is a mineral you can mine in Sons of the Forest, and it’s thankfully not as rare as you’d imagine. The gold-hued resource can’t be mined using your hands, and its use will likely be a mystery at first. Don’t worry, though. We know how to find and use Solafite in Sons of the Forest — but be sure to grab a torch first.
Solafite is found in many of the caves scattered around the Sons of the Forest island. I managed to stumble on a mass quantity of the stuff in the Rifle cave. You can spot it easily enough: It grows in large clumps that crawl across walls and onto cave floors. Solafite is brassy/gold in color and slightly reflects light. If you’re using a torch or flashlight, you should easily be able to spot any while spelunking.
Find the pickaxe to mine Solafite in Sons of the Forest
As mentioned, you can’t just pick Solafite off the ground in the game. You first need to locate the cave that contains the mining pickaxe. If you’re unsure where that is, check out our detailed guide. The pickaxe can be found partially buried in a heap of Solafite, letting you stock up early. You can only carry 12 pieces of Solafite in your inventory at once. If you haven’t already, I’d suggest making a small base near a cave that has the material. You’re going to need it if you want to enchant some goods.
Solafite is used as a resource for the Enchanting Table in Sons of the Forest. The recipe for the table is in the aforementioned cave, so be sure to grab that before you go for the pickaxe. It takes six Solafite to use the table, meaning you can enchant two items before needing more.
