It’s essential to evolve your Career Mode team consistently, as your players will age just like they do in real life. Naturally, finding new talent is critical for your club to remain successful in the long run. While signing young players always offers plenty of benefits, scouting world-class talents can elevate your squad to the next level.
What are regens in EA FC 24?
You can scout talents from all over the world to recruit to your club in Career Mode. While new players will join your team every year, some of them will eventually retire as well. Once they retire, a new version of them will be generated in your Career Mode save, and they’re commonly referred to as regens by the EA FC 24 community.
Finding them can be slightly tricky, as they will appear just like any other young talent. There are also chances that you could end up ignoring them from scout reports if you don’t know what to look for.
How to spot regens in EA FC 24
The first job is to keep track of the superstars who are going to retire. To do so, you can add a specific footballer to your transfer targets (once they retire, the names will disappear). Make sure to keep note of their birthdays, and here’s why that’s important.
When the footballer retires, a regen will be created. These are the following details they will have in common with the retiring candidate:
- Nationality
- Position
- Same date of birth
- Same league (mostly, but not always)
Over the years, I have found that keeping track of nationality and position might not always be accurate. When you match nationality and position with the date of birth, the odds of finding a regen go up massively.
While noting the birthdays of all superstars might sound harsh, it’s worth doing for the big names. In EA FC 24, the potential of a regen will be the same as that of the superstar he’s replacing. For example, the AI-generated player replacing Cristiano Ronaldo will have the same potential (unless EA Sports has sneakily changed the system).
Do note that AI-managed teams will want to acquire these talents as quickly as possible. So, keep your scouts prepared, their reports checked, and jump in to sign these wonderkids as soon as possible to take your EA FC 24 Career Mode save to new heights.
