Risk of Rain is a hard game, but maybe for some, hard just isn’t good enough and Monsoon isn’t cutting it. If that’s true, maybe you should find the Artifact of Honor in Risk of Rain Returns and turn that rain into terror sweat.
For as hard as it makes things, the Artifact of Honor can be quick to find in Risk of Rain Returns. The item can be found in the Desolate Forest, one of the game’s two possible stage-one locations. Of course, you need to spawn into the correct variant if you want the artifact. Things don’t always come that easy you know, and that includes the characters you can unlock in the game.
Where to find the Artifact of Honor in Risk of Rain Returns
To find the Artifact, you need to start at the aforementioned Desolate Forest. You’ll know you’re in the correct variant by searching to the left to find a series of hanging vines near a wall. The Artifact can be seen floating in a room, frustratingly out of reach. There’s no obvious point of entry from this angle. Don’t try and find a hidden path on the wall. You’ll just take fall damage that way. Instead, keep climbing the vines until you reach the top of the cliff.
Once you’re on top of the ledge, climb even higher and further left until you find a few trees. One of the trees curiously stands out with blue leaves on its trunk and around its roots. Go to the tree and hold down to discover the hidden roots that’ll take you into the ground.
Keep climbing down and you’ll eventually drop into the room containing the Artifact. It becomes unlocked once you grab it, and you also complete the challenge: ‘Find the Artifact of Honor’.
What does the Artifact of Honor do?
The Artifact of Honor, like other Artifacts in the game, can modify your runs. You can activate it in the character select menu. Once activated, the Artifact of Honor turns every enemy into an elite enemy. Your foes become tougher to kill and pack an even harder punch. Combine the Artifact with the ‘Monsoon’ difficulty for the ultimate challenge.
