Fortnite’s Loot Island has been revamped slightly during the Fortnite x Metallica collaboration, with music blasting, a new capture system, and some fun visuals to reflect the theme. Visiting this island will help you progress through Metallica quests and give you a chance to get some powerful loot.
How to visit the floating Metallica Loot Island stage in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3
Much like the regular Loot Island, the Metallica iteration spawns randomly after four to five storms have passed. As you near the end of your Fortnite match, you’ll spot Metallica’s signature “M” in the sky, signaling the island’s arrival. You’ll also find a rift symbol on your map to pinpoint its exact location.
In other words, your first challenge is to stay alive this long. You’ll have to wait around ten to fifteen minutes for the game to reach this point. By this point, several players remaining in the match will charge toward Loot Island once it appears, so you’ll have some competition to deal with.
Once the Metallica Loot Island begins spawning, you’ll have around 30 seconds to reach its destination before it fully appears. Afterwards, zip lines will appear to help you ascend to the island’s level, but you can also use items to fly up if you have some. Upon landing on the island and stepping into the main Metallica stage area, you’ll knock out the quest objective and get one step closer to finishing every event mission.
How to capture the Metallica Loot Island stage in Fortnite
When you arrive on the Metallica Loot Island, you’ll spot a stage in its center with music playing. Upon stepping inside its circle, use any dance emote to start the progress circle. You’ll have to dance for around 20 to 30 seconds before you can claim its loot. You can usually find epic, legendary, or even mythic-grade items here, making it worthwhile to capture quickly before looking for players.
Alongside dancing for a while, you’ll have to defend yourself from opposing players who want to compete for Loot Island’s rewards. Watch your surroundings, and listen past the music for anyone running around or ziplining up.
