How to find the Witchfinder’s Station PC password in Alan Wake 2

A sticky note with the password on it: classic

Alan Wake 2 starts to open up very quickly, allowing the player to access a large portion of Cauldron Lake after a few key story events. Here’s how to unlock the PC in the Witchfinder’s Station, which will shed some more light on one of the game’s sidequests.

What’s the password to the computer at the Witchfinder’s Station?

To get to the Witchfinder Station, you’ll need to progress with the story until the flooding has ended (spoiler alert: it’s right after this encounter if you want to know the exact moment this is possible).

Once you’re at the actual station itself (a large structure in the northwest corner of Cauldron Lake), head inside to find a PC directly in front of you. So how do you discern the code? This one’s easy! Take a close look at the PC monitor (you can zoom in by aiming your weapon with the left trigger). Closer! Closer…there, you see it? The sticky note? It has a code on it: 2547.

Just input that code and you’re good to go! It’s OK that there are extra spaces, the solution will trigger after inputting those four numbers.

What does the password unlock?

As you might imagine, you won’t be getting physical rewards for your character (it’s in the computer?). Instead, you’ll be nomming on data. Unlocking the PC will allow you to access emails, which give some color to the various riddles dotting the map of Alan Wake 2.

You can view those emails in the gallery above.

How do the riddles in Alan Wake 2 work?

“Riddles” are little puzzles on the ground that you can solve for rewards (one of which is right outside of the Witchfinder’s Station). Half of the legwork in each riddle is finding the necessary pieces: the other half is discerning the clues.

Collectibles (dolls/statues) are generally located near each riddle, and must be placed in a specific spot on the ground after interacting with them. The riddle might hint that a bird flew over a certain location, and you’ll just place one bird there. Another might state that a hero left his home and a wolf was living in the forest; you guessed it, you’ll place the hero in a location like a boat, and the wolf in the tree symbol.

With this bit of info, you’ll be able to easily solve every riddle in the game without having to look for the exact solution!
